I organised the Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair because I wanted to bring together constituents who are looking for work and successful local businesses that want to expand. With more than 200 people, 26 businesses and 5 schools attending, I think we can say "Job Done!"

I was delighted that we had many local businesses such as Luxus, Polypipe and Walnut Care, as well as national companies with local connections such as BAE Systems, Butlins and National Grid, offering careers and apprenticeships. I was told that the interest in the opportunities available was so strong that some companies ran out of application forms!

I was particularly pleased that several schools attended the Fair so that students could see the variety of career options available to them when they leave school. There are many apprenticeships and training opportunities available locally when they leave school and I hope the Fair has given them ideas.

The Fair was a really positive event for our local area and I would like to thank the Job Centre and the Rotary Club in Louth for all their support in putting on such a successful Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair.
